Networking:
There are different programs that members are encouraged to participate in that allows networking opportunities. These include: Ribbon Cuttings, Business After Hours, BBQ & Blues, Buggy Days, Golf Tournament, and Awards Banquet.
Business Referrals:
The Chamber of Commerce receives daily request for goods and services within our area. The Chamber of Commerce only refers its members in this request. You will receive business referral cards by mail when we refer you business.
Business Publicity and Exposure:
The Chamber lobby displays are available for member's business cards, brochures, and other promotional items. Member listings are also included in the membership directory, which is printed annually.
Legislative Representation:
The Chamber serves as a unified voice for its members to local and state government, and holds political forums.
Community Involvement:
The Chamber of Commerce spearheads many community events to help promote Lamar County. These events include: BBQ & Blues, Buggy Days, Golf Tournament, and the Illumination Celebration. It has been proven that community events help bring the community together and make it a better place to live and do business.
Leadership Lamar:
The Chamber provides a 16 week Adult Leadership Class that develops leadership skills and encourages participants to become more active within their community.
Chamber Publications:
The Chamber offers affordable advertising rates in the membership directory. In order to keep members continually updated, the Chamber sends out frequent emails and a monthly newsletter.
Committees:
The chamber offers opportunities for direct involvement on numerous committees. These include: BBQ & Blues, Buggy Days, Merchants Committee, and Illumination Celebration.
