Barnesville Buggy Days celebrates Barnesville's heritage as the Buggy Capital of the South during the late 1800's. We have been awarded the distinction of being a Top 20 event in the Southeast for five out of eight years, often featured in major publications such as "Southern Living" magazine. Buggy Days is held on the third full weekend in September.
The Fun Begins With Arts & Crafts
More than 150 artists and crafts persons sell their handmade items on Main Street. Buggies are on display outdoors and in our Old Jail Museum. Food pleasing to every taste is available from hardworking civic clubs.
Food Court
Local civic groups provide a variety of traditional and unique food menus to satisfy any appetite.
We Love a Parade!
Our parade features buggies, floats, horses, and a host of civic groups. The parade begins at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, leading off with our Grand Marshall. Each year the Outstanding Citizen for Lamar County is conferred the honor of riding the parade route in a carriage as our Grand Marshall.
Concert and Street Dance
The Chamber of Commerce and a host of Sponsors would like to invite you to The Ritz Park Amphitheater on Friday, September 16th at 7:00 pm for the annual Street Dance to rock in the Buggy Days weekend. All bands are to be announced at a later date.
